05 . Build Process

Three ways to show how a guitar gets made.

The Process page is where curiosity becomes trust. Same steps, same shop, same hands. The question is whether the visitor walks through it, jumps around it, or feels their way into it.

Process Range Three rhythms of the build. Real shop footage and stills throughout. Same five stages, three rhythms.

The Build Process

Five steps. One conversation that runs through all of them.

Consultation. Design. Build. Finish. Delivery. Every Pappenfüs guitar walks the same path, and you walk it with Jeremy.

01

Consultation and Wood.

The build begins with a meeting in Columbia Falls or over Zoom. Concierge wood selection comes with every commission: actual sets of tonewood, and a real conversation about what each species brings to the sound you are after.

02

Design Decisions.

Five model sizes, parlor through jumbo. Then options: cutaway, side sound port, arm rest bevel, Manzer wedge, multi-scale fretboard. Center-out design. Sound first, then ergonomics, then aesthetics.

03

The Build.

Once design is finalized and the deposit is placed, the build begins. Jeremy works alone, one instrument at a time. Photos of the bracing, binding, and neck-shaping arrive throughout, so you become part of how the instrument gets made.

04

Finish and Setup.

French polish shellac across the body, applied by hand and buffed between coats. Osmo poly-x on the neck for durability. Final setup: action, intonation, nut, saddle. Jeremy plays the guitar before it leaves the shop.

05

Delivery.

Five-day approval period when the guitar arrives. Live with it. Play it. If it does not earn full approval, return it for a refund minus shipping. Most do not come back.

Chapter Three . The Build

One bench. One instrument at a time.

Once design is finalized and the deposit is placed, the build begins. Jeremy works alone in his Columbia Falls shop. Bracing carved and voiced by hand. Binding wrapped. Neck shaped.

You are not left wondering. Photos of every stage arrive as the work moves: the bracing going in, the binding wrapped, the neck shaped. You become part of how the guitar gets made.
